The Paw Paw Volunteer Fire Department responded early Saturday, March 9, to the Bellware Subdivision, Waverly Township, for a fully involved house fire. The Michigan State Police Fire Marshal was at the scene Monday, March 11, to try and determine the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported. Paw Paw Fire Department Chief Jim DeGroff said Paw Paw was assisted by Lawton and Gobles fire departments in battling the blaze. Also assisting at the scene were Paw Paw Quick Response Team, and Van Buren Emergency Medical Services. Chief DeGroff said Van Buren County Central Dispatch “also played a huge help to us.”
