The purpose is to develop objectives and methods to maximize student potential.
It is driven by analytical data, along with feedback from students, community members and staff to create a shared vision.

On Monday, Kacie Kefgen of Michigan Association of School Boards addressed the board of education regarding details of the process.
She said the process is designed with a “SMART” approach: specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based.
Kefgen also sought preliminary feedback from administrators and board members to kickstart discussion. It’s focused on several key areas.
Points of pride. What accomplishments are worth celebrating?
Opportunities. What elements of the education system require attention?
Barriers. What roadblocks exist that may be hindering improvement?
Long-term vision. How do you see the “identity” of the school district in the next five, 10 or 15 years?
Each board member provided ideas in one or more of those categories.
