It’s been said that the only certainties in life are death and taxes. For the past 18 years, however, you could have added a third item to that list: the Allegan girls tennis team winning Wolverine Conference dual meets.
The Tigers entered their match against Otsego on Wednesday, May 4, having won 108 straight league duals. That’s what made the Bulldogs’ 5-3 victory so monumental.
The fact that first-year Otsego coach Jen Aldrich previously coached Allegan for 15 years added another layer to the victory. Allegan’s winning streak began during Aldrich’s first season as head coach of the Tigers in 2004.
