The Saugatuck Public Schools board has given superintendent Tim Travis highest-possible ratings for being highly effective, demonstrating acumen across areas including student outcomes, resource allocation and management, processes and procedures plus leadership team relations and development.
Michigan requires yearly such assessments of district leaders.
“A highy effective rating,” said board president Laura Zangara, “reinforces the board’s belief that Dr. Travis is and incredible leader for Saugatuck Public Schools, and balances his many responsibilities with great critical thinking and management skills.
“The board looks forward to our continued work with Dr. Travis as we implement out Five-Year Strategic Plan.”
Travis, who advanced from SHS principal to superintendent five and a half years ago and has spent 39 years in public education, the last 18 here, praised and thanked students, parents, staff and teachers for their backing.
“Exciting things are happening here,” he said.
