The Paw Paw softball team welcomed in ranked Coloma on Thursday. The Lady Red Wolves hung with them, taking game one 6-5 in extra innings and falling 12-1 in the second game.
In the opener, Coloma led 5-2 in the seventh inning, but Paw Paw rallied to tie the game at 5-5. In the extra frame, Jordyn Grant hit a walk-off RBI single, scoring Natalie Pierce.
Macy haase got the win pitching while Grant finished with three hits and Haase and Emily Roy had two hits apiece.
In game two, injuries and illness played a major part, as the Red Wolves’ line-up was limited. They had three hits.
“We played without any subs and could only muster three hits for the game,” head coach Michael Mottl said. “Many of the girls showed their grit by playing hard through difficult injuries.”
