Paw Paw football has high expectations

PAW PAW – Dennis Strey is looking to have a strong Paw Paw football team compete in the Wolverine Conference this season.
Paw Paw had a 4-5 record last year and many sophomores competed.
“Many sophomores saw game action last year,” Strey said adding key graduates from last year included Carter Plangger, Max Harvey and Logan Leonard.
Key players this year include Darrin Strey, (junior OL/DL)-Will be his third year starting. First Team All Wolverine last season. Troy Vandenburg (SR Tight End, DB), who started his sophomore year and junior year, Austin George (OL/DL), PJ DeYoung (junior RB/LB) was brought up midway as a freshman to play linebacker, Bryson Newell junior RB/LB-started at DB last year, and Nathan LaMere senior TE/DB-returning starter.
“With many returners we have high expectations this season.” Strey said. “The Front 7 is returning and we expect them to be leaders of our team. We will continue to work on tackling and defense. The Wolverine will be tough competition every week.”
