PAW PAW – Paw Paw’s boys basketball team defeated Three Rivers 81-55 to improve to 9-12 on Feb. 19.
Paw Paw had quarter leads of 15-8, 35-17 and 60-33.
“Paw Paw came out of the gates hot and continued to put up points the entire game,” Wolves coach Aaron Beery said. “Paw Paw shot an outstanding 65.9 percent from the floor (29 of 44) including 61.5 percent from 3 (8 of 13). Paw Paw also had assists on 24 of their 29 made baskets. Four players scored in double-figures, led by Caden Bowen with 19 on 7 of 7 shooting from the floor. It was a great overall team effort.”
Paw Paw had a rematch with Three Rivers on Monday evening and won 45-31.
The Wolves will finish up with a game at Otsego on the road Feb. 23 to round out the regular season.
Paw Paw’s district draw will be against Allegan on Monday, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. in Parchment.
Gobles 54 – Black River 40
Jayden Otis led the Tigers with 23 points and 11 rebounds in the contest on Feb. 16 The Tigers move to 7-12 on the year and hope to finish strong this week before hosting Districts the following week.
Gobles is home Feb. 23 against Galesburg-Augusta to close out the regular season.
