Parole compliance check nets seven arrests at Paw Paw Township motel

PAW PAW TWP. – Van Buren County Sheriff Daniel Abbott reported that Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics detectives, along with Uniform Response deputies and Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), conducted a compliance check at the KPEP/Red Arrow Motel, 38266 Red Arrow Highway, Paw Paw Township, on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
Detectives and agents from Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) asked individuals from room 1 to room 14 to step out of their rooms at approximately 11:30 p.m. to conduct a search as part of their parole conditions. Detectives located three subjects on scene with methamphetamine, two subjects with ammunition for a firearm, and another subject with psychedelic mushrooms.
Other violations were observed by agents on scene. A total of seven people were arrested. All suspects were transported to the Van Buren County Jail. An additional subject who was visiting was arrested on a misdemeanor warrant and possession of methamphetamine.
When completed, a report will be sent to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
K-9 Jet was used on this case to search the rooms and helped locate several places where narcotics were being stored.
