Out and About: Classic cars, movies, and a fishing tournament

We are celebrating the 66th Annual Water Festival and it seems to get better every year. This event started out as the “Water Carnival” and one of the highlights back then was the float parade on the river. The parade now is made up of approximately eighty entries and there is a new theme every year. The theme this year is “Three Rivers Goes Tropical”. As always, there are activities for every member of the family.
The Classic Car Show is tomorrow in the downtown business district. After a pancake breakfast at the fire station, the entire family might enjoy checking out the cars and trucks on display. It’s interesting to see vehicles when they looked different from each other. They are all classic.
You Classic Car enthusiasts, will also want to mark your calendars for Wednesday, June 21. This is when Optalis Health & Rehab, 517 South Erie St., Three Rivers, will host a Classic Car show beginning at 5:30 p.m. Classic car owners wishing to participate should contact Heather to RSVP. Table manners aren’t as important as they once were. Here are a few suggestions, if you wish to dine properly:
  • Don’t sit a foot off from the table, or sit jammed up against it.
  • Don’t eat soup from the end of the spoon, but from the side. Don’t gurgle, or draw in your breath, or make other noises when eating soup.
  • Don’t spread out your elbows when you are cutting your meat. Keep your elbows close to your side.
