OTSEGO – Otsego City Commission October voted to enter an agreement with Flywheel Momentum for a housing study which is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022.
City manager Aaron Mitchell told the council the Rock-Tenn Developers would use the study to understand the needs of the community.
The commission also approved an amendment to the city’s zoning ordinance regarding electronic signs. Amendments which were originally adopted in 2016 will be removed, Mitchell told the commission.
The commission approved a resolution to making increases and decreases to the 2022-23 annual appropriations bill. The commission had approved the bill which limits amount for expenditures and anticipated revenues for the 2022-23 fiscal year. It was noted certain activities and revenue sources would exceed previous projections. City manager Mitchell told the commission the budget adjustment was due to a donation to the fire department from USG, Otsego Paper, for equipment or training which would benefit the community.
Mitchell gave commissioners updates on Vibrancy Grant completion; Creative Arts Festival and the Otsego Public School request to lower the speed limit to 25 miles per hour during specific times before and after school.
