Osceola approves $200k for courthouse renovations

MARION – The Osceola County Board of Commissioners, at their Tuesday meeting, voted to approve moving the administration offices/board room to the church property and to move all departments from the Annex building to the Courthouse.
The board also voted to allocate up to $200,000 for renovations and to bid out parts of the projects to local contractors.
“The plan is to bring all of the courts, probate and district court to the actual courthouse,” commissioner Roger Elkins of Evart said.
The county also approved the Area Agency Care
Management/Waiver Programs PCS Agreement Amendment.
Commissioners voted to approve the COA to purchase carpet for their building in Hersey from Sweet Tile & Carpet, Inc. for $4,388.64. The price includes installation.
Commissioners approved the COA Hersey plumbing quote from Phelps Plumbing and Heating for $9,800.
Commissioners approved the EMS Department to take sealed bids on their 2017 F-250 with a reserve set at $35,000.
The commissioners approved the Prosecutor’s Crime Victims Right FY23 Grant Application.
Commissioners voted to approve the Sheriff Department to accept the donations of $1,200 from Morgan Composting/Dairy Doo for hand-held radar and $1,000 from Walmart for E-Citation equipment.
It was decided to extend the Sheriff Department’s Record clerk position to Aug. 26.
The board approved the fiscal year 2023 Grant Application for the Michigan Indigent Defense Commission.
