Obituary: Susan Elizabeth Maurer, 63

Susan Elizabeth Maurer (Milbocker), of Allegan, transitioned into Eternal Glory peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2023, with her family by her side. Susan was born on February 6, 1959, to Colleen and Bernard “Buster” Milbocker. She grew up in Allegan and on June 23, 1979, married Garth (Gus) Maurer. Then on June 16, 1981, they welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Leslie, into this world.
Susan spent many of her years as a realtor and owner of Maurer Real Estate. She took great pride in serving her community and customers. She loved to travel with her family and visited many beautiful places and made a lot of amazing memories. She loved being by the water, floating in the pool and soaking up the sunshine. Susan never took a day for granted; she welcomed each day with a grateful heart knowing it was a gift from GOD. Her family was her true pride and joy, she always enjoyed being able to spend quality time with them. She loved to watch her grandchildren excel in sports and in life. Grandma Sue did not miss a game unless it was impossible for her to make it.
Susan accepted Jesus Christ into her heart many years ago and from that point forward, she dedicated her life to serve Him faithfully. She truly lived her life by being obedient to His word and treating others with kindness, compassion & love. She took every opportunity to show people God’s love, mercy & grace. She faced many trials, storms & tribulations in her lifetime but not one time did she ever complain or lose faith. She found GOD in every one of those moments in her life and truly decided to not allow anything to steal her peace. She carried such strength, and you would’ve never known she was suffering. Her smile was so infectious and could light up any place she entered.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and loved ones and she shall be remembered and celebrated each day going forward! For her life truly is a gift to all who knew her.
She truly fought that good fight and was a faithful servant of the Lord all the way through. We fully believe HE welcomed her home and said unto her, “Well done thy good and faithful servant, enter the Joy of the Lord.” Matthew 25:23
Susan is survived by her husband, Garth (Gus) Maurer; daughter, Leslie (Brandon) Baker; two stepchildren, Heath Maurer & Shelly (Todd) Roseboom; siblings, Steven (Robin) Milbocker, Kathy (Randy) DeMann & Scott (Peggy) Milbocker; Sue’s grandchildren, Braxcynn and Duranden Baker, Austin (Abby) Roseboom, Lexi & Lily Roseboom, Sawyer and Aubrielle Maurer & Brycen Heckman; nephews, Adam, Elliot & Spencer Milbocker, Ryan Gurn & Levi DeMann; and nieces, Erin Milbocker Wixom & Mallory Rimkus.
