Guess who’s in heaven! Ruth Elaine (Steele) Adams, age 76 of Hastings is now in the loving arms of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ruth passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born July 1, 1946 in Grand Rapids, the daughter of James and Dorothy (Almy) Steele.
Ruth loved the Lord dearly and was an active member of the Orangeville Baptist Church for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, spending time outdoors, gardening, and camping. Ruth wintered in Texas for over 13 years, where she regularly volunteered working with orphaned children.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Arden Adams; children: Arden Dale (Leann) Adams, Kellie (David) Thompson, Shanon (James) Paul; grandchildren: Ashlie (Michael) Riley, Nichole (Jake Hartger) Thompson, Maci (Travis) Cooper, DJ Thompson, Brandon Riley, Emma Riley; great grandchildren: Rachael, KaraLynn and Matthew Riley, Cade and Sydney Cooper; sister, Ester Jean (Steele) Selby; many nieces, nephews, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ from Orangeville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Russel Adams; and several siblings.
Ruth’s family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Orangeville Baptist Church where her funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Pastor Andrew Manwarren and Pastor Chuck Dennany will officiate. Private burial will take place in Rutland Cemetery.
