Ronald Lee Flanders was born August 11, 1946 in Grand Rapids, MI to Stuart and Anna (Zarbock) Flanders and passed away April 23, 2023 in Memphis TN after a 10 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Ron lost his father at the age of 15. He was raised by his mother in Grand Rapids. He graduated from Creston High School in 1964 and was joined in marriage to Cathie (Mount) (Flanders) Tattersall December 30, 1966. He enlisted in the US Marine Corp for four years and served aboard the USS Iwo Jima in Vietnam. Ron was proud to be a Marine and every goodbye was Semper fi. He was a career salesman which is no surprise to those that knew him. He could talk to anyone, anywhere at any time and could sell you a slice of the moon if you gave him 10 minutes of conversation. He worked in the well and pump business and retired a few years back. The family moved to Paw Paw in 1978 and built their family home. His ex-wife, children and grandchildren still reside in the area. Ron moved to Memphis in 1994 and remained in Collierville TN (East Memphis) until his passing. Ron was well known for his sense of humor, love of animals, music, cars, gardening and Christmas lights.
He is survived by his children Chad (Brooke) Flanders, Dana Flanders, Dawn (Tom) Juriga, Bret (Susie) Flanders, 10 grandchildren- Brady, Adrienne & Brynn Flanders; Alex Buddemeier; Olivia, Sophia, Sawyer and Sheridan Juriga; Gabriel and Benjamin Flanders; his wife Raelyne and son Mark Flanders of Collierville, TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sharon and brother Stuart Flanders and his granddaughter, Megan Buddemeier.
A celebration of life will be held at Amore Restaurant in Paw Paw on Saturday June 3, 2023 from 1-3pm.
