Robert Harry Brown, 77 of Watson, Michigan, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2023, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Born December 12, 1945, in Plainwell, Michigan, he was the son of Harry and Elma (Clawson) Brown and the husband of Angeline (Weglarz) Brown. Robert graduated from Hopkins High School, received a bachelor’s degree from WMU and went on to earn a Master of Agricultural Education degree from MSU. Robert was a hard worker and went on to hold a variety of jobs. He worked 20 years at Rockwell International, then went on to teach high school and junior high at Hopkins Public Schools for 14 years. After teaching, Robert spent 10 years as a crop insurance adjuster and raised English walnuts and made maple syrup during his retired years. He was an advisor for the Hopkins FFA and enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, golfing, hiking, bicycling, and travelling. He loved life and especially liked being outside in nature, appreciating the beauty around him. He and his wife were blessed with a son and they both enjoyed their small family and spending time together.
Robert is survived by his wife, Angeline; his son, John (Claudia Berríos-Campos) Brown.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard (Gloria) Brown, Janet (Jack) Buist, and Sandra (David) Harnish.
Friends may meet with the family at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at which time a memorial mass will begin, Father Christopher Derda officiating. Inurnment will take place at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
