Obituary: Orville Lee Griffith

Orville Lee Griffith June 23, 1933-March 25, 2023
Orville Lee Griffith, age 89, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2023 at White Oaks Assisted Living in Lawton following a brief illness.
He was born June 23, 1933 in Decatur, Michigan, the son of Arthur M. Griffith and Bertha O. (Martz) Griffith. Orville was a lifelong resident of the area.
Orville was honorably discharged from the United States Army, after serving during the Korean War, earning the rank of Spec 3. He was also a member of the Paw Paw Lions Club for many years as well as a member of the Paw Paw United Methodist Church. Orville was well known and loved in the community. Many who knew Orville remember him as a talented barber.
On July 3, 1957, Orville married the former Ann M. Mumbrue and they enjoyed 45 years of marriage prior to her death in September of 2002. Orville and Ann had an amazing life together and a beautiful family.
Orville was blessed to find true love a second time in his life, and on December 13, 2008 he wed Marlene Tucker and had 15 years of love and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Bertha as well as brothers Melvin Griffith, Kenneth Griffith and sisters Eula Roehm and Irene Calbetzor.
Orville leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Patricia Herrema (Dennis) of Eastmanville, MI; son, Roger (Pat) Henderson of Paw Paw, MI; and son, Stephen (Heather) Griffith of Kingsley, MI. He also leaves behind five beloved grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grand baby.
Interment has taken place and Orville and Ann are resting at Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw, MI. Further arrangements are being entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Avenue in Paw Paw, where the family will receive friends for a life celebration to be held at Adams Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday June 24, 2023 beginning with visitation at 11am. Services with Jim Abshagen officiating will begin at 12:00 noon followed by a light lunch.
Memorial contributions may be made in Orville’s name to the Paw Paw Lions Club or the American Legion Post 68 in Paw Paw.
