Ms. Willie Mae Gunn Weaver, 76, of Chattanooga, TN (formerly of Lanett & LaFayette) died Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services were held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Stanley United Methodist Church, 501 Dodson Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37404 at 12:00 p.m. (CST).
Willie Mae Gunn Weaver was born on December 9, 1946, to the parentage of Amos Gunn and Willie Marzilla Barrow Gunn in Lanett, AL. She received her education in the school system in LaFayette, AL and Chattanooga City College, Chattanooga, TN. At an early age, she united with the Mitchell Springs United Methodist Church, Lanett. After moving to Chattanooga, she united with Stanley United Methodist Church where she served faithfully on the Usher Board, the United Methodist Women & the Culinary ministries. In her professional career, she worked as an office manager & dental assistant for 38 years and worked over 14 years as a CAN/caregiver.
Willie Mae is survived by her children: Terrance A. Weaver, Seffner, FL, and Janella M. Clark, Chattanooga, TN, adoptive daughter: Alethea Brown, Tampa, FL; siblings: Amos (Vickie) Gunn, Jr., Detroit, MI , Linda Hill, Los Angeles, CA, Marie Greene, Chattanooga, TN, William Robert (Tracy) Gunn, Milford MI, Sallie (Ray) Thomas, Newnan, GA, Alex (Deborah) Gunn, Chattanooga, TN, Gail Ramsey, Chattanooga, TN, Roberta (Wilbert) Wheeler, Sr., Chattanooga, TN, Eric (Pricili) Gunn, Atlanta, GA, Ronald (Beverly) Beasley, Detroit, MI ; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
