Mr. John C. Howell, Jr., 76 of Lafayette, AL passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Public Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 1:00 PM CST until 6:00 PM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL.
Public Visitation will also be held Monday, February 19, 2023 from 9:00 AM CST until 11:00 AM CST at Silmon-Seroyer Funeral Home Chapel, Lafayette, AL.
Mr. Howell, Jr. will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 19, 2024, 1:00 PM CST at Friendship #2 Baptist Church, Lafayette, AL. Reverend Curtis Spidell, Officiating. Reverend H.L. Jones, Eulogist
Interment will follow funeral service in church cemetery.
He leaves to cherish years of memories: a devoted wife of 52 years, Frances A. Howell; a loving daughter Vernecia “LaGayle” Howell of Auburn, AL; two grandchildren, Tristen Howell and Cayden Dowdell of Auburn, AL; a loving sister, Eva “Juanita” Perry of Anchorage, AK; a special nephew, Rev. Rickey L. Cofield of LaFayette, AL; two doting nieces, Carol “Diane” Carlisle of McDonough, GA and Gwendolyn (Henry) Anderson of Lithonia, GA; two loving nieces/granddaugters, Terrika Carlisle of McDonough, GA and Alexis (Pernell) Rudley of Jonesboro, GA; four special cousins, Edward (Gloria) Turner of Valley, AL, Vestchula Green of Ft. Washington, MD, Sarah Smith of New York, NY, and Betty Little of Brooklyn, NY; two caring friends, John L. Blakes of LaFayette, AL and Hubert Patterson of Roanoke, AL; his daughter’s friends whom he thought of as his daughters, Yolanda Ratchford of Auburn, AL, Shelisha Bridges of Lithia Springs, GA, Adrienne Graham of Coumbus, MS, Venus Jones of Opelika, AL, and Doris Eaves of Auburn, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
