Mary Webster was born to Neal “Moose” Webster and Johanna Moerman Webster of Kalamazoo, MI. She was the oldest of 6 children, preceded in death by her parents and her brother Neal Jr. She is survived by her siblings Nancy Webster, Patti Hamilton (Charlie), Lyle Webster (Ann) and Amy Little (Jack). Mary was a loving mother to her son Christian “CJ” Webster, now Zehm (Elly). Mary and CJ moved from Denver to Michigan to be near family and chose Lawrence as her home, and began putting down roots.
She graduated from Plainwell High School in 1967 and attended Alma College. She liked getting things done and she loved giving back. She believed that “you can only fix what you can touch” and as such has been involved in dozens of projects in Lawrence over the last 30 years including serving on the village council and serving as Village President.
Mary retired from Pfizer after 22 years. She was proud of her work and was proud of her ability to be able to leave it at the office at the end of the day. When she wasn’t working or donating her time to the Library, Garden Club, Book Club or game group, she loved spending time in her garden and reading mystery novels.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at 3:00pm at the Lawrence United Methodist Church, 122 S. Exchange St. Lawrence, MI 49064. Light refreshments to follow.
