Obituary: Margaret C. McPhall

Margaret C. McPhall, age 96 of Clare, passed away peacefully at the Pioneer Golden Estates on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 with her family by her side.  Margaret was born in Clare on March 17, 1927, to parents Thomas and Margaret (Lietchi) Ackerman.  She was a lifelong resident of Clare, having graduated from Clare High School in 1945, and soon married Frank McPhall on June 3, 1945.  Together, they enjoyed over fifty-seven years of marriage until the time of Frank’s passing in 2003.  Margaret enjoyed being a housewife and raising their family on their farm.  She was a great cook and baker.  After Margaret’s children had grown and left the home, she worked for twenty-plus years in the Clare area cleaning homes for clients.  Margaret enjoyed spending time with her eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.  There were many camping trips and overnights with all the kids staying in the living room or just staying a week at Grandmas.
Margaret is survived by her son Chuck (Ethel) McPhall of Lake Isabella, her daughter Marlene (Steve) Dysinger, her daughter-in-law Tina McPhall, and her sister Bernice (Henry) Eberhart, all of whom reside in Clare.  She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, her daughter Carolyn, her sons Gary and Dennis, and her siblings Hazel, Frances, Doris, Charles, Jerry, and Neil.
Funeral services for Margaret will take place on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Clare Chapel of the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home with Pastor Jereme Bear officiating.  Burial will follow at the Cherry Grove Cemetery of Clare.  Friends may visit with the McPhall’s on Sunday, November 12th at the funeral home from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.  Memorial contributions in honor of Margaret may be directed towards the Americans Home Health & Hospice Care.  For those unable to attend services, online condolences may be shared at www.stephenson-wyman.com
