Obituary: Marcia Morene (Jordan) Huggett

Marcia Morene (Jordan) Huggett, 84, of Paw Paw, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo. She was born April 22, 1939, in Assyria, Mich., the daughter of James Robert Jordan and Emma Ruth (Jenkins) Jordan.
On Feb. 1, 1958, she married the love of her life, Lyle Bernard Huggett, who preceded her in death, April 15, 2022.
Morene enjoyed all types of arts and crafts. She spent her time sewing and was a talented seamstress. She was just beginning to get back into her routines she had put on hold while Lyle was ill. During the spring and summer months, Morene could be found tending to her many flower beds and her garden. During the winter months, Morene, and her late husband, Lyle, soaked up the warm sun in Sedona, Ariz.
Morene dedicated most of her time to the United Methodist Church in Paw Paw. She assisted with almost everything involving the church, trying to make things easier for her church friends and family. Her caring and giving soul extended to many other places throughout Paw Paw as well. Morene volunteered for the Lakeview Foundation Thrift Store in Paw Paw.
Above all else, Morene loved and cherished the time she spent with her family. She looked forward to the shopping trips she would take with her granddaughters. She and Lyle spent a great amount of time traveling the world together, visiting many different states and countries and going on relaxing cruises. Morene also went on many camping trips with her children and grandchildren.
Morene is survived by her daughter, Lisa Huggett; son, Christopher Huggett; her five beloved grandchildren, Ashlee (Jon) Duke, Ryan (Clarissa) Huggett, Nathaniel Huggett, Shelby Huggett, and Megan Huggett; one great-grandchild, Archer Huggett; her brothers, Paul (Bea) Jordan and Don (Lora) Jordan; and sisters, Elvene (Ron) Hoogakker, Helen (late Bob) Binkowski and Jean (Tom) Ried.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 64 years, Lyle; brothers, Bob Jordan, Emmett Jordan (who gave the ultimate sacrifice in World War II) and David (late Janet) Jordan; and sisters, Janet (late Mac) McNutt and Carolyne (Ike) Stutton.
Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, Dec. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at the Paw Paw United Methodist Church, 420 W. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, with the Rev. Len Schoenherr officiating. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the church. Morene will be laid to rest at Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw.
