Surrounded by her family, Linda Lou Slater Skillman, walked into the arms of Jesus at her home on February 27, 2022 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born on November 15, 1940 to Louis and Hazel Slater in Beaverton, MI.
After graduation from Beaverton high school, marriage and raising three Children,
Linda developed a passion for nursing and Studied at the State University of New York and The graduate School at the University at Albany, to become a registered nurse. She then moved to Colorado Springs and enjoyed a 50-year career in nursing, holding a variety of positions throughout her nursing years and touched many lives along the way until her retirement after the age of 70. In her years of retirement her passion turned to her grandchildren and great grandchildren with whom she spent many hours.
Linda will be missed by her Children, Kelly (Kenny) Preisser and Jennifer (Tiffany) Skillman of Colorado Springs, CO. and Patrick (Rebecca) Skillman of Spring Branch, TX. her Grandchildren, Addie (Justin) Arnell, Taylor (Lindsey) Preisser, Vanessa Skillman, Felica Skillman, and great grandchildren, Aztin, Lexie and Millie Arnell, Beulah and Dorothea Preisser
She is preceded in death by her twins, Timothy and Tamara Skillman, her
granddaughter Aztin Lou Preisser, her daughter-in-law Michelle (Silva) Skillman, her parents and many brothers, sisters, and in-laws.
According to her wishes, Linda’s ashes will be brought back to Michigan for a private service at the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare, MI where she will be laid to rest with her twins.

I lost my mama in 2017. Suddenly. Having become a RN in ‘07 I KNEW what she suffered. The good news is our mama’s are at peace and PAIN FREE. And our grief DOES lessen over time.
