John Lee Shayler (Apple) age 77 of Clare passed away Easter Sunday April 9, 2023 at McClaren-CMCH hospital in Mt. Pleasant, Mi.
John was born August 26, 1945, to George and Alethia Shayler. He graduated from Clare High School. John was employed by Shurlow’s and CMCH Ambulance services for many years. After leaving there he worked in the ER/Surgery at CMCH. Once retired he took great pride in and loved taking care of his yard, flowers and decorating his yard at Christmas time.
John is survived by one brother Chuck & Kathleen Shayler, stepmother Sylvia Shayler, along with two nieces Mark and Tammy Shea of Clare, Mi, Traci Morgan of Grand Blanc, Mi. Two nephews Jon and Michele Corbat of Flushing, Mi, Nicolas and Tammy Corbat of Flushing and several great nieces and nephews and cousins, along with his loving and caring neighbors Tahila and Kathlyn D’Halliercourt and Art Stevens. He was preceeded in death by his parents and one sister Georgia Lee Corbat.
Visitation and services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, at the Clare United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of Services at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the Cherry Grove Cemetery in Clare. Though John did not have Cancer, he was a supporter of the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Clare County with the family wishing for contributions to be made to the Pardee Fund.
