Janet Ruth Nemeth, age 87 of Clare, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the MyMichigan Medical Center in Alma. Janet was born the daughter of Robert and Eva (Hoenshell) Bolin on October 12, 1935 in Gladwin. Janet was married to Eugene Methner in 1951, and to this union were born 5 children; they divorced but remained close friends. She was then united in marriage to Garth Nemeth on May 8, 1974 with him predeceasing her on April 8, 2010. Janet had worked for the State of Michigan Department of Social Services as an Assistant Payment Worker; she had moved to Clare from Mt. Pleasant six years ago. She loved to bake and always had sweet treats in her home for family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her sense of humor and the love for her family.
Janet is survived by her children Pamela (Tim) Sheredy of Farwell and Loren Methner of Michigan City, IN; her step children Karen Nemeth of Nashville and Gary Nemeth of Missouri; a bonus son Michael (Amelia) Methner of Michigan City, Indiana; a son-in-law Don Clark of Mt. Pleasant; her brother-in-law Jack Farrell of Las Vegas, NV and her sister-in-law’s Mary Bolin of Carson City, Cheryl (special friend Bruce) Meyers of Alma, Milene Nemeth of Ithaca; step sisters Margaret (Allen) Brewer of Farwell, Donna (Gary) Kaler of Florida as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews Janet was predeceased by her children Kevin Methner, Daren Methner and Janee Clark; and her siblings Phyllis Farrell and Vern Bolin.
In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place with a Celebration of Life to be planned for a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army.
