Obituary: In Loving Memory James E. Stipes (5/10/1935-10/10/2018) & Lorraine M. Holland Stipes (1/7/1938-12/12/2022)

Jim and Lorraine married in Marion, MI on January 23, 1954, with two close friends by their side, Carol Jean Turner, and John D. Downing. Jim and Lorraine met at Marion High School where Jim played basketball, and baseball while Lorraine won numerous medals for drums in the school band. Jim and Lorraine were happily married for 64 years. The adventures they had together and with their children left treasured memories to hold on to. For those who knew Jim and Lorraine, they were loving, kind and made you feel proud to call them your friend. Their brightness will forever shine together as we cherish the memories.
Jim and Lorraine lived life to the fullest while raising their four children, Sharee, Cary, David, and Karen and are survived by Sharee, David, and Karen. They adored proud grandparents to their grandchildren Sandra, Eric, Natalie, Mindy, and Kristin and great grandson, Zackary, and are survived by Eric, Natalie, Mindy, and Zackary.
Jim was the son of James Stipes and Lura (Shreve) Stipes and was the brother of sister Jacqueline (Stipes) Watt. Jim was the uncle to niece, Angela and nephews Doug, Brian and Jon Watt and is survived by Angela, Doug, and Jon.
Lorraine was the daughter of Ralph and Gladys (Pike) Holland and sister to Ralph Jr, Albert, James, Beatrice, and Lois Holland. Lorraine was the aunt to Janice, Diane and Ronald Helmoldt, Scott Holland, James, Becky and Ramona Holland, Richard, Fred, Byron, and Doug Bloom and is survived by her nieces, Janice, Becky, Ramona and nephews, Ron, James, Richard, Fred, Doug, and Byron.
My parents’ wishes were to be laid to rest together at Greenwood Cemetery, Marion, MI. Services will be arranged for spring 2023 with date and time of services to follow.
Dad and Mom, you will forever be in my heart, I miss you!
