Obituary: George F Bush Sr.

George F Bush Sr., 88 years old, began his external life in Heaven on Christmas Day in his home surrounded by family, cats and three dogs. George was born in Allegan and raised in a loving home with 4 siblings, with him being the eldest. He lived life with a positive attitude that brought cheer to all who knew him whether they were family, friends, or the many people he met along life’s way. George worked at various places in the Allegan/Otsego area. George had a strong work ethic, showing kindness and respect for others, generously giving to those in need, staying positive through life’s ups and downs, and putting his Christian faith first. George and Donna, with his boys, shared many special times that created lasting memories – including square dancing,
fishing, camping, traveling and deer hunting. As a deer hunter he always got his Buck whether it was with his bow/arrow or his 300 Savage rifle. For many years you could find him at the Allegan McDonalds and the Plainwell Walmart store playing his music with a small group of guys who were passing the time. George was a very competitive Euchre player. George married Donna in 1955. They were married for 45 years until her passing in Jan. 2000. Together they raise three amazing boys. Larry, George Jr. and Jonathan. Proceeding him are his parents Albert and Cleo (Trimm) Bush, his beautiful wife Donna, stepson Larry McKeown, brother Leonard, sister-in-law Alice and brother-in-law Gary Comstock. George is survived by his boys George Jr., Jon and two daughters-in-law. Eight step grandchildren and many step-great grandchildren. Brothers Lyle and Dale (Barb) and a sister Donna (Bush) Comstock, sister-in-law Lois Bush and June Bensinger, many nieces and nephews. Following his wishes cremation has taken place with the Neptune Society of Grand Rapids. A celebration of his life is being planned for early summer of 2024. To the world he was one person. To us, he changed the world forever. Please plant a tree in his honor.
