Everett Harold McEntyre, age 87, of Allegan, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023. He was born to Jess and Carmel (Fleeman) McEntyre on June 25, 1936, in Manila, Arkansas.
He was a mechanic and loved race cars. He enjoyed building engines. He owned McEntyre Automotive and McEntyre’s Racing Engines. You could always find him at the Kalamazoo Speedway or Berlin Raceway in Marne. He attended Chicora Country Chapel.
Everett is survived by his first wife, Marilyn McEntyre; his children: Janet McEntyre, Ken McEntyre, Maria (George) Bush Jr., Lloyd McEntyre, Sheila (Ron) Ritsema, John McEntyre, David McEntyre, and Mike Lockwood; wife of 34 years, Dorothy (Risner) McEntyre; stepchildren: Rolland Patrick, Clinton Patrick, Steven Patrick, and Jaqueline Weaver; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Laurie Patrick; siblings: J.C. McEntyre, Jerry McEntyre, and Fanny Cox; granddaughter, Shannon Heppe; as well as a recently lost Great Grandson, Triston Bradshaw.
A burial will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery, 6942 Lindsey Road, Orangeville Township with Pastor Curry officiating.
