Dale Jay Smith, age 72 of Rosebush, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center in St. Louis. He was born the son of Don D. and Ruth W. (Varney) Smith on June 30, 1950 in Mt. Pleasant. Dale had served his Country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Army. He worked for Lobdell-Emery in Alma and later at Bentler in Martin as a Supervisor. He was united in marriage to Karen Spalding Harrington on August 30, 2019. Dale was a lifelong resident of the Central Michigan area and had attended the Rosebush United Methodist Church. He was an avid Hunter and enjoyed reading newspapers and magazine articles.
Dale is survived by his wife Karen Harrington Smith; children Dale (Trisha) Smith Jr. of Indiana, Charles (Nardia) Harrington of Florida and Don (Melissa) Harrington of Colorado; his siblings Joe Smith of Rosebush, Larry (Doylene) Smith of Shepherd and Nora Hyatt of Midland; many grandchildren.
Visitation and services will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M. with Pastor Joe Beavan officiating. Burial will follow in the River Lawn Cemetery with Military Honors.
