Obituary: Dale J. Meister

Dale J. Meister, age 59, of Farwell, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 4, 1964, to Keith and Della Meister. In 1982, he graduated from Grand Ledge High and moved with his family to Lake of the Pines after graduation.
He met Dawn Schomisch in the spring of 1984, and they were married on April 25, 1987. Together they had three boys, Keith (Shauna), Karl and Kurt (Caron). His two beautiful daughters-in -law were considered his daughters, as far as Dale was concerned. He has one beautiful Granddaughter, Hadleigh, that he loved to watch and play with. Also surviving are his father in law, Ron Schomisch, siblings, Kathy & Bob Brinkmeier, John & Karen Meister, Kelly Wixon, and Joe & Pat Williams, his In laws, Ronny & Debbie Schomisch, seven nephews, Bobby(Melissa) Brinkmeier, Danny(Jennifer) Brinkmeier, Johnny(Crystal) Meister, Bryan(Jessie) Meister, Christopher Schomisch two nieces, Laurie(Adam)Kuhn, Jessica Schomisch seven Great nephews and seven Great nieces, Daniel, Connor, Blake, Carter, Lincoln, Madison, Leah, Killian, Mara, Lacee, Timothy, Maddie, Emily, Ava, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded by his parents Keith and Della, his mother-in-law Billie Schomisch
Dale enjoyed being outside, spending time with his family. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and riding his bike, also building things. Dale was well known for his quick wit and being a jokester. He loved sports whether it was watching his boys in the stands, cheering them on in track and cross country or being mat side for wrestling or on the sidelines for football coaching. Also watching the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings or NASCAR. Dale had worked at Lake of the Pines, Farwell Lumber, Mott Mountain, Wicks Lumber, and most recently Stanley fuel, gas and oil / Coyne oil and Propane.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the St. Cecilia Church in Clare with Msgr. Francis Koper officiating. Friends are invited to meet with his family at the Farwell Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home, 165 S. Hall St., Farwell, Mi., 48622, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM, and on Thursday at the church from 10 AM until services begin at 11. Memorial gifts may be directed to the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Clare County.
