Christopher John Wargo age 26 of Clare passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 2, 2023, while returning home from a vacation in Thailand. Christopher was born December 14, 1996, in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Steven Charles Wargo and Maureen Leigh (White) Wargo. Christopher graduated from Farwell High School in 2015. Christopher was currently employed with Hi-Tec Building Services as a custodian with Clare-Gladwin RESD. Christopher was affiliated with Clare Assembly of God Church, Clare.
Christopher was planning on furthering his education to become an Occupational Therapist, so he could help children with disabilities. He was passionate about collecting, assembling, and painting giant robots, transformers, and biotics, a hobby that he considered himself a connoisseur of. Christopher also enjoyed riding bikes, playing guitar, video gaming with friends, playing on the computer, and spending time with his dogs and other dogs.
Christopher is survived by his mother, Maureen L. Wargo of Clare, his father, Steven C. Wargo, and fiancé Amy Smith of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, two brothers: Taylor Wargo and wife Stefania Miron of Coleman, Michigan, and Alex Wargo of Clare, a half-sister, Emily Johnson and husband Justin of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, one nephew, Cooper Johnson, one niece, Addalyn Johnson, his bestest friend, Ryan Livingston of Lake, Michigan, many aunts, uncles, cousins, close friends, and a loving church family. Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Yvonne (Everts) White, and his paternal grandfather, Charles Wargo.
Funeral services honoring Christopher will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. from Clare Assembly of God Church, 3557 East Colonville Road, Clare, with Pastor Scott Harper officiating. Visitation will take place Friday, April 21, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Clare Assembly of God Church and Saturday, April 22, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare. Memorial gifts in memory of Christopher may be considered to the Wargo Family, in care of: Clare Assembly of God Church. On April 1st, 2023, Chris boarded a plane for his flight from Bangkok, Thailand to Seoul, South Korea, heading home to the US. He had spent a wonderful week with friends and was already discussing returning to Thailand next year. Shortly into the flight, Chris was found unresponsive. Life-saving attempts were performed as the plane returned to Thailand. He was later pronounced deceased on April 2nd at 12:06 am in a Thailand hospital. The general cause of death was presumed as cardiac arrest. Autopsy results are pending.
