Obituary: Charles Edward Lindenbach

Charles Edward Lindenbach, 80, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at his home with his family by his side. Chuck, as many knew him, was born Oct. 5, 1942, in South Haven, the son of the late Peter Lindenbach and Mary (Scott) Earl-Boadway.
Chuck’s greatest joys in life were being a husband, a father, a grandfather, and a great grandfather. He was a family man who taught all his children what it means to wear your heart-on-your-sleeve and how to live bravely. He was there for talking, teaching, and supporting whenever needed; and, if you needed help fixing anything he was the man to go to. Chuck was an outdoorsman: he had a true aptitude for fishing and hunting. He was an avid bowler with his wife, Jerry. And, importantly, Chuck was a relentless U of M fan, convincing anyone he could to “Go Blue.” Together, he and Jerry, raised a wonderful home full of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren bound by the Lindenbach name and what it means to be a family.
Charles was united in marriage in 1962, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw, to Jerry Lynn Krumrei, who survives.
He is also survived by his two sons, David (LeAnne) Lindenbach and Scott (Melissa) Lindenbach; one daughter, Gail (Richard) Derhammer; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Keith, Allison, Ethan, Blane, Sarah, and Blake; three great-grandchildren, Amelia, Savannah and Olivia.
Charles was preceded in death by his grandson, Brandon Lindenbach; brother, Peter Lindenbach; his sister, Agnes Alexander; and mother, Mary (Scott) Earl-Boadway.
Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories at Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, Friday, March 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. Private interment at Saint Mary Cemetery, Paw Paw, will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to Centrica Care Navigators in lieu of flowers.
