Obituary: Carolyn Ruth Musser (Bishop)

Carolyn Ruth Musser (Bishop), age 86 of Farwell, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born on July 22, 1936 to James C. and Elizabeth (Shaub) Bishop  in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  She was united in marriage to Robert E. Musser on June 28, 1958 in Lancaster and together they enjoyed over sixty-four years of marriage.
Carolyn graduated from Penn Manor High School in Millersville, Pennsylvania in 1954 and began her career as a secretary for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. in Lancaster.  She then became a mother and housewife and later served as an Administrative Assistant for Liberty Tool & Die, Co. in Walled Lake, Michigan.  She completed her working career as a Human Resource Assistant for PMH Caramanning Inc. in Farmington, Michigan.  She retired in 1999.
While in Pennsylvania she attended the Mt. Hope Methodist Church and most recently was a member of the Clare United Methodist Church.  She was a strong Christian woman, and studied her family bible and loved to sing the old Christian hymns at Sunday services. Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed family gatherings where lots of food and desserts were served.  She especially enjoyed being a part of her large extended family and was very interested in maintaining her family tree history. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Robert E. Musser of Farwell, Michigan, her two daughters, Diane (Peter) Montini of Farwell, Michigan, Lisa Webster (Jonathan Finamore) of Clare, Michigan, a son, Steven Musser, six grandchildren, Eileen (Montini) Poneleit (Timothy), Kyle Musser, Katie Musser, Nicholas Montini (Lauren Peetz), Molly Webster, Owen Webster, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin E. Musser, and her parents.
A private memorial service in honor of Carolyn has been planned.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Breast Cancer Foundation (she was a survivor since 1984) and to the Epilepsy Foundation (in honor of her great granddaughter). Online condolences may be shared with the Musser family at www.stephenson-wyman.com.
