Alice Marie Pence– age 95 of Lake passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Prestige Place in Mt. Pleasant. Alice was born on November 17th, 1928, in Detroit, Michigan to parents John and Elizabeth (LaRue) Hardy. Alice married Lawrence Pence on April 29, 1960, in Warren, Michigan. Alice was a member of the Lake Rod & Gun Club, and enjoyed traveling, making Christmas Ornaments, and loved spending time with family and friends. Alice is survived by her daughter Judy Childress-Lewis and husband Bob Lewis of Lake, grandchildren; Dawn Michelle Beattie(Jim), Lisa Markel (Jason), Dawn Marie Hellebuyck, Howard Childress (Kari), great-grandchildren; Eric Markel, Kaitlyn Beattie, Greta Hellebuyck, Urijah Markel, Alice Markel, siblings; John Hardy, Virginia Warker (Len), Richard Hardy (Phyllis) Dorothy Seifert (Joe), Donald Hardy (Mariam) Eugene Hardy (Marie) Clifford Hardy (Linda) and many nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years on December 1, 2022. A funeral service is planned for Saturday, December 2nd, 2023, at 11AM at the Campbell Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Farwell. Pastor Richard Fairfield will officiate. Family and friends may visit on Friday, December 1st, 2023, from 5-8 PM and again on Saturday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
