McBain Northern Michigan Christian’s golf team played in the Missaukee Cup at the Missaukee Golf Club on Wednesday.
Scorers for NMC were Titus Best (41), Cam Baas (42), Ty Vab Haitsma (46), Blair DeZeeuw (47) and Jino Kumkanab (47).
NMC played on May 15 at Lakewood on the Green against McBain and Manton and shot a 168. Emmitt Baas (40) led NMC, followed by Blair Dezeeuw (42), Titus Best (43) and Cam Baas (43).
“I am very pleased with a 168 on the tough back nine at Lakewood,” NMC coach Jeff VanNoord said. “We are starting to shoot our best scores as we are heading towards the conference championship and the state tournament. It should be a fun last couple of weeks.”
On Friday in early Missaukee Cup action vs. McBain and Lake City, Titus Best (39) led the Comets, followed by Dries Van Noord (41), De/Zeeuw (42), Emmitt Baas (43) and Cam Baas (43).
“I am happy with the scores we put up tonight,” VanNoord said. “It was good to see Titus lead the way and shoot a 39. We have a deep team and I never know who is going to shoot the low scores.”
