Murphy, Cotter named McBain homecoming king, queen

MCBAIN – McBain High School earlier this month had a week-long homecoming celebration.
McBain is unique is that it celebrates the main homecoming during winter and at a basketball game. Most schools celebrate during the fall and at a football or soccer game.
“Our theme for 2024 was Tangled. The McBain student council planned all of the events,” school spokesperson Becky Rodenbaugh said.
Activities included spirit week Monday through Friday. “Friday afternoon we had our Homecoming parade recognizing our winter athletes and our Homecoming Court,” Rodenbaugh said. “After the parade, the high school had our annual Homecoming assembly. Assembly activities included men’s volleyball, tug of war, and several other games.
“Our Homecoming game was Friday night with Homecoming Court after the game was done. Our Homecoming Dance was Saturday night at the school.”
Class representatives were:
FRESHMEN Landon Kirt and Adilynn Ridgway.
SOPHOMORES Colton Haverkamp and Peyton Grant.
JUNIORS Henry Baas and Gabriella Dennis,
SENIORS Trenton Gladu and Karsyn Meyering; Bret Benthem and Katelyn Krick; Carson Murphy and Brekken Cotter who are the are the king and queen.
