On Tuesday, Feb. 27, Michigan will hold its presidential primary.
And for the first time in a major statewide election, voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots through early, in-person voting.
Beginning with the presidential primary, municipalities in Michigan are required to hold at least nine days of early voting. Locations must remain open at least eight hours on each of those days.
The early-voting mandate is the result of a ballot initiative passed by voters in 2022.
Early voting for the presidential primary began on Saturday, Feb. 17, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 25.
Polls are open in the City of Otsego and the City of Plainwell from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each of those nine days. Otsego Township residents can vote from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, Feb. 27, polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at all locations.
