Missaukee cuts services offered

Effective March 17, 2023, Missaukee Conservation District will no longer serve as the Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) County Enforcing Agency (CEA) for Missaukee County after serving in this capacity since 1994. In a resolution passed by the Missaukee County Commissioners it was stated that the “Board finds that it would be a more efficient level of providing services if the County’s soil erosion and sedimentation control services were administered and enforced by the Missaukee County Building Department, so that the public can obtain needed construction permits and any required soil erosion and sedimentation control permits at the same location.”
Since being formed in 1949, Missaukee Conservation District’s focus has been on assisting landowners with their natural resource concerns and will continue to do so. We provide the community with information and on-site assistance to keep our environment healthy. Local staff is available to help guide you through sustainable management choices for farmland, forestland, or at your home. Technicians are here to help enroll landowners in tax-saving programs or connect them to available cost-share partnering with USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and many other entities. Natural Resource lessons and workshops are offered to schools, civic groups, and the general public, with the goal to give everyone access to a wealth of knowledge as we all continue to protect our soil, air, and water. Visit missaukeecd.org to see all that we have to offer and connect with us.
