MATTAWAN – Mattawan’s tennis team enters this week ranked No. 3 in the state in Division 3 and undefeated in matches. They will be playing for a Southwest Michigan Athletic Association title on Saturday in a day-long .
Coach Matt Boven likes how his team has been playing.
Mattawan last week defeated St. Joseph 5-3 and Gull Lake 7-1 for a 14-0-2 record
Dylan Hodgman a freshman at 4 singles is 14-1. The No. 1 doubles team Anfred Willliams-Tanner Segraves are also 14-0.
Football
MATTAWAN – Mattawan improved its record to 2-3 with Friday’s 49-7 conference win over Battle Creek Central.
Coach Dave Arrasmith’s Wildcats improved to 1-2 in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference with the win. Battle Creek is 0-3 and 0-5.
On Friday, Mattawan will host Kalamazoo Central (0-3, 1-3).
Volleyball
MATTAWAN – Mattawan’s volleyball team lost to Byron Ceneer at the Cristi Curtis Memorial Invitatinal on Saturday 15-25, 29-27, 15-8.
On Sept. 20, Mattawan beat Battle Creek Central 25-8, 25-13, 25-20.
Otsego will play at Mattawan on Sept. 28.
