Marion sells strip of land in village

MARION – Marion’s Village Council meet on April 3 and discussed various items and took action on several.
The council discussed a 16.5 strip of land on Broadway Street;
A motion was approved to a 16.5 strip of land on Broadway for $1 to Will Pollington. It was noted he is assuming all of the closing cost.
The council approved the request change in the MDOT Major Street System
The council also acted on water rates/loan payment term:
Members accepted the 30-year SRF term by Bakertilly.
Councl Moved to go with the 6.12 million threshold with the 10 percent contingency built in for the DWSRF water project.
“If we need more, we can add the $1.75 per month onto the water bills,” mayor Flora Grundy said. The proposal from Pearson Drilling Company was approved.
Community Clean up day will be Saturday, May 6, for Village residents only; residents should have their items at the curb by 10 a.m. Saturday morning. Dumpsters will be available at the DPW building, Thursday, May 4, and Friday May 5 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
It was decided to donate $500 to the Household hazardous waste.
It was also decided to proceed with the bid for South Case Street.
