Danyel Prielipp continues to wear many hats at Marion High School.
Two of the hats are elementary principal and superintendent. She also continues to be the Marion cheerleading coach and watched her team set a new school record in a home meet on Jan. 11.
Marion set the record on Jan. 11, scoring just over 708 points.
They also took first place and won a trophy.
Points are based on how a team is scored by judges in their performances for three rounds. Two of the rounds are based on unison cheers, compulsories, tumbling and other skills.
The third round is highlight by mounts.
Marion also competed in a meet on Wednesday at Evart.
Earlier this season, Marion competed in meets at Shepherd and is scheduled to be in meets at Shepherd this Friday, at Chippewa Hills on Jan. 25 and at Evart on Jan. 27.
In February Marion will compete in the district meet with hopes of finishing high enough to qualify for regionals. Teams in the regionals will try to qualify for a spot in the state finals.
Marion competes in Division 4.
Evart’s team is coached this year by Taylor Bryant.
