ALLEGAN – The Allegan County Sheriff’s Dept. reported on Nov. 28, the body of Avel Martinez was found along the lakeshore by members of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team in the area of Riley and N. Lakeshore Dr.
Foul play is not suspected.
Allegan County Deputies reported on Nov. 21, 42-year-old Avel T. Martinez was reported missing by his spouse at their home in Leighton Township, Allegan County.
Deputies say His spouse stated that he had been depressed recently. On Nov. 22, Martinez’ vehicle was found abandoned near Riley and N. Lakeshore Dr In Ottawa County.
An extensive search of the area was conducted by deputies from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Search and Rescue Teams as well as area fire department personnel. It has been believed, deputies said, Martinez left the residence voluntarily and foul play is not suspected.
