Are you looking for some unique Christmas gifts? Or maybe you’re in the mood for some tasty treats for yourself?
Either way, Plainwell’s Indoor Farmers, Artisan & Craft Market has you covered.
The market, which began on Saturday, Nov. 5, will run each Saturday through Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is located in Plainwell City Hall at 211 N. Main St.
“The first couple weeks the market has been doing well,” City of Plainwell community development manager Denise Siegel said. “Opening day was fantastic and last week was just as good. We have regulars who come every week and have their favorite vendors.”
This year’s market features nearly 30 vendors, with room for a few more. Food offerings include produce, meat, coffee, honey, syrup, cheese and gluten-free products. Metal works, leather and wood working items are also available.
“And that’s not to mention some really cute boutique-style crafters along with a plant vendor we have this year,” Siegel said.
The most recent market featured the following vendors: Papa’s Metal; Retired Hide Leathercraft; The D.A.M. Ranch; Mike’s Classic Chips; Mother Daughter Dumplings; Eicher’s Family Bakery; The Fox and The Otter Homestead; Gee Dee Bees; V Roastery; Grampa’s Pastys; Rug Ratt; Pam Morse; Peace and Happyness; Craft & Grow; Linda’s Design; Dee Sal Crafts; The Cheese People of Grand Rapids; Clay and Fiber Co.; Gypsy Joy Creations; Sugar Creek Farm; Cathy’s Creations; Jerk Your Beef; Mitteneers; Scooter’s Pantry; Small Town Plants; Top Shelf Catering; and Clay Jewelry.
“Vendors enjoy being at our indoor market,” Siegel said. “The atmosphere of being in a historical space makes this a very unique experience. People always comment that they love coming to the market. We have new shoppers every year always say things like, ‘I never knew this was here.’ Or ‘What a wonderful market; I will be back next week.’
The Nov. 26 market will feature a couple of special guests, as Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will stop by before taking part in the Christmas parade in downtown Plainwell the following week.
