Housing commission reviews applications

MARION – At last week’s Osceola County Housing Commission meeting, there was a review of applications.
Linda Miller, Executive Director Appointee – Big Rapids Housing Commission, discussed all the applications that were received and the projects that are being requested. She recommends the committee allow her to award the bids to the lowest responsible bidder as she works out the details with the bidders and homeowners.
Total of four projects were discussed as follows:

  • Ray Wilber. Motion passed to support a new furnace be installed by Shelton for $4,520.
  • Doug/Connie Johnson. Motion passed to support a new furnace to be installed by Shelton for $4,751.
  • Susan Vann – A motion passed to support a new septic tank/drain field to be installed by Allard’s for a cost of $8,250. It was also decided to approve the lowest bid between Andy Stieg and Bigelow for re-roof of Susan Vann’s home.
  • Vivan/Raymond Lyons – The Committee agreed to table the requested projects until more information can be gathered.
    The date of the next Housing Committee meeting is to be determined.
