Halloween fun for everyone — starting today

There are lots of Halloween activities planned around the area beginning this weekend! Check out our list and pick the ones you won’t want to miss, or pick up a fl yer with loads of events listed at the Clare Area Chamber of Commerce located inside the Clare Union Depot on Fourth Street. If you love Halloween Pumpkins, stop there beginning tomorrow to check out the great pumpkin display sponsored by the Chamber, Clare United Methodist Church, Tom Kunse for State Representative and the Wild Pumpkin.
There is even a Halloween two-person Golf Scramble at Firefl y Golf Links on Sunday, Oct 23 with a shotgun start at 2 pm. And including hole games, a hole in one prize, cash prizes, prizes for the best costume and more. Cost is $90 per team. Register at www.claremichigan.com/forms or call 989-386-2442.
Oct 21 -28 – MI Rock Stop Gifts and More in Clare is having a Halloween themed painted rock contest. Sizes and shapes can vary but be no larger than a softball. Four age categories with prizes. To apply or for information stop by MI Rock Stop Gifts and More.
Oct. 21,22,28 & 29 – Visit the Deadwood Grove Haunted Forest at the Mid Michigan College Harrison Campus from 7 to 10 pm. Admission $10; kids 5 and under $5.
Oct 22 – Clare United Methodist Church 105 E. 7th Street – Pumpkin Carving Contest 2 pm. Pumpkins provided, bring you own carving supplies. Pumpkins will be on display at the Chamber.
Oct. 22 – The Clare Witch Project at 3201 the event page on Facebook or call 989-386-7943. Admission $8, Kids 5 and under FREE.
Oct. 28 – Horizon Senior Living Center Trick or Treat at 1312 Vinewood, Clare from 6-8 pm candy giveaway. Dress in your spookiest costumes!
