Former County Administrator accepts Van Buren County appointment

PAW PAW – At a special meeting, held Monday, June 5, the Van Buren County Board of Commissioners appointed John Faul as the new county administrator.
Faul previously worked for Van Buren County in various capacities, including county administrator, before transitioning to the position of Palisades Project Director in 2021, and retiring in 2022. He recently returned as acting interim county administrator and has now accepted the administrator position for a two-year period, according to a press release from the county.
In accepting the appointment, Faul said, “I am looking forward to helping the board through the remainder of their present term of office through 2024 and assisting them in their search for a new administrator once a new board is seated for their four-year term beginning in 2025. This provides me the opportunity to continue to build relationships and provide mentorship to a relatively new staff. I believe my institutional knowledge will be of benefit to the county and the community at large.”
Faul’s contract is expected to be formalized by commissioners by the end of the month.
