Festive Fridays continued in Allegan with Art Hop on Dec. 8, 2023. The streets were filled with those exploring the Downtown shops and stopping to admire and purchase items from the artists and artisans who occupied spaces in shops and businesses.
An extra attraction was the reindeer on the front lawn of the Allegan District Library. With reindeer comes Santa, and children of all ages stopped to address the merry soul with their Christmas wishes.
City Manager Joel Dye shared, “The Festive Friday Art Hop on Fri., Dec. 8th was a huge success. Hundreds of people strolled the sidewalks stopping at shops and businesses that housed artists and craftsmen. The library hosted real reindeer and Santa. The Holy, Jolly Trolley was full, and people were waiting in line at stops. Hot cocoa was available several places around town and hundreds of cups were distributed to shoppers.”
If anyone took a moment to drive through Downtown after 8pm, they would have seen numerous groups gathered and chatting rather than hurrying home.
The next Festive Friday spotlights Food Trucks. Enjoy some favorite dishes from the Monday Fork in the Road: Food Truck Rally this past summer.
