Friday night the Eagles were in Coleman for a non conference doubleheader against the Comets. The first game was tied at 4 until Coleman rallied in the 5th inning for a 14-4 win over Farwell.
However, in the next game, Farwell decided to flip the roles. Literally. The Eagles beat Coleman 14-4.
Jaiden Sharrow started the fun in the first inning, drawing a walk and pushing in the first run. The Eagles were able to put up 9 runs in the first inning, Jaiden Sharrow, Raini Sponseller, Kaycie Simons, Madison Forfinski, Hannah Norbury, and Lindsay Esterline all pitched in that inning with RBIs.
Remi Sponseller, Madison Forfinski, Lindsay Esterline, and Hannah Norbury all racked up multiple hits for the Eagle victory. The defense was also sharp the second game with zero errors in the field.
Farwell will play against the Evart Wildcats on Monday, April 24 at 4:00p.m. in Farwell. And thank you to the Eagles for reminding us that victory always tastes sweeter when it’s washing away the gross aftertaste of defeat.
