The driver of this rolled-over car New Year’s morning decided not to stick around for police and more to respond. “We were only six hours into 2022,” Saugatuck Township IT director Erik Kirchert reported, “when dispatched for a rolled over vehicle on I-196 south of the Kalamazoo River. Prior to arrival police reported no driver in the vehicle. Upon arrival,” he continued, “our crew assisted Douglas Police and Allegan County Sheriff’s deputies trying to locate the driver by use of our thermal imaging camera and providing traffic incident management and scene safety. However, no driver or passenger were found at the time. The vehicle suffered extensive damage and had come to rest in the woods. Our crew returned to the station at 6:57 a.m. (Photo by STFD crew)
