Curns sentenced for multiple drug offenses

Kristina Curns of Harrison was sentenced by Judge Roy Mienk May 15 to serve up to 40 years in prison on multiple felony convictions.
According to a post by Clare County Prosecutor Michelle Ambrozaitis, Curns “pled guilty March 23rd to multiple controlled substance offenses.”
Ambrozaitis listed several law enforcement investigations last summer that led to her sentencing:
On June 19, 2022, she was investigated by the Michigan State Police for Possessing a Controlled Substance (Cocaine/Heroin/other narcotic) under 25 grams.
June 25, 2022, she was investigated by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department for Possessing a Controlled Substance (Cocaine/Heroin/other narcotic) under 25 grams, Driving while license suspended, and operating a motor vehicle without security.
On July 19, 2022, she was investigated by MINT for Delivery of Methamphetamine and Delivery of (Cocaine/Heroin/or another narcotic) under 50 grams. It was alleged that she delivered fentanyl.
July 24, 2022, she was investigated by the Clare County Sheriff’s Department for Possession of Methamphetamine.
“Criminal charges stemming from all of the investigations were filed by the Clare County
Prosecutor’s Office,” the post said.
Curns plead guilty to the following charges on three separate case files, with the fourth case file dismissed in a plea agreement:
Delivery/Manufacture Methamphetamine;
Delivery/Manufacture of (Cocaine/Heroin/or another narcotic) under 50 grams [fentanyl];
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine/Heroin/other narcotic) under 25 grams [fentanyl], 2nd or subsequent offense notice; and
Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine/Heroin/other narcotic) under 25 grams [fentanyl], 2nd or subsequent offense notice.
Curns was ordered to serve 4 years to 40 years on both delivery convictions, with credit for 276 days served. She was ordered to serve 17 months to 8 years on each of the possession convictions with credit for 320 days served in the one file and 319 days served in the other file. All sentences are to run concurrent with one another. She was also ordered to pay a combined total of $1,262.00 in fines, costs, and associated fees.

  1. Too bad more drug alcohol and mental Help is an offer versus punish punish punish punishment like that’s really gonna solve anything when the truth is there’s more drugs imprisoned an outside of prison and much easier to get.
