MARION – The Osceola County sheriff’s department has announced on its Facebook Page deputy Nick Harrison, has received the Deputy of the Year recognition award.
Sheriff Cool presented Deputy Harrison with this award at the Osceola County Board of Commissioners meeting.
“Deputy Harrison is assigned to our road patrol division and has been with the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office for over a year,” the department said in a statement. “During our last command meeting, Deputy Harrison was unanimously chosen as our employee of the year. Deputy Harrison is a field training officer and one of our Taser instructors. He is also a Marion graduate and continues to give back to his community. Some of his volunteer work includes the Shop with a Cop program and passing out candy in uniform, which he purchased with his own money, to the children of Marion during Halloween.
“Deputy Harrison has a strong work ethic and it shows. He took 1,080 calls for service last year some of which included: recovering a stolen tractor that led to the recovery of other stolen property, a traffic stop resulting in a large amount of methamphetamine being taken off the street, along with numerous other arrests for OWI and assaults.”
